Our Team

Dr. Lindsey is an Internal Medicine Physician, and Roanoke native. After graduating from Cave Spring High School in 2001, he joined the U.S. Army. At the completion of his tour of duty, he returned to Roanoke planning to pursue his career in medicine. Finishing his undergraduate degree at Roanoke College, and his medical degree at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, he was able to complete his residency training at Lewis Gale Medical Center focusing on Internal Medicine. In addition to his position at The Weigh Station, Dr. Lindsey serves as a Hospitalist at Lewis Gale Medical Center, Medical Director for Star City Medical, Medical Director for Agena Urgent Care, and sits on the Board of Health for the City of Marietta and the Town of Belpre.

Dr. Lindsey’s relationship with The Weigh Station and Dr. Shaffer dates back to 2008 when he was struggling with obesity.  Working closely with Dr. Shaffer, and our team, he quickly reached his goals and learned the tools for a successful and healthy lifestyle. From that experience a mentorship and friendship between Dr. Shaffer and Dr. Lindsey grew. As Dr. Lindsey’s medical career advanced; he saw first hand how limited nutrition education was in medical education and how this epidemic of obesity was leading to many of the chronic medical problems that plagued his patients. Dr. Lindsey has continued his obesity medicine research and ongoing friendship with Dr. Shaffer. He is currently completing his certification by the American Board of Obesity Medicine and by joining The Weigh Station, he hopes to continue to change the lives of our patients.
