I am so very grateful to the doctors and staff at The Weigh Station…

…for saving my husband’s life.   I know that this statement sounds a bit dramatic but the program has changed our lives beyond measure. Please allow me to describe Keith’s journey.

At 53 years old, Keith was well engrossed in a downward spiral of obesity, high blood pressure and depression.  His pain, anger and self-loathing were magnified by his excessive alcohol intake.  Although he had battled his weight most of his life it came to a head in May of 2014 when his anger frightened our family enough that we were prepared to leave.

During his adult life, Keith tried diet after diet with no lasting results. He equated eating with comfort but he soon found himself so overweight it seemed impossible to change.  He began to have difficulty with high blood pressure and found himself unable to perform his usual activities.  People would stare at him and comment about his weight gain which caused him embarrassment and pain.  Soon he found himself turning to alcohol to cope with his misery.

He had reached a turning point where he had to decide whether to continue on his self-destructive path or to dig his way out of the quicksand.  That was the day he decided to live.  He gave up alcohol and called The Weigh Station for help.  The doctors and staff there gave him the tools to reach his goals.

It wasn’t long before he was able to see results of his efforts.  Now, nearly a year later, Keith is more than 100 pounds lighter.  He is sober, happy and is able to run for the first time in many years.  I am delighted to have my husband back!
